Danielle's Students
Danielle loved children and had a tremendous amount of patience with them.  She could win over any child into her heart - even the 'toughest nut to crack.'  I attribute it to her love of child activities and being a child at heart herself.  In the evenings, she would prepare 'goodie bags' for her students along with her lessons - she often commented on how sad it was when a little girl would come to camp without a lunch.  She truly cared about children and their well being.  She often said that she was going to home school her children and she would not work outside the home when they were little.  Danielle constantly talked about the kids at camp and at Kindercare ~ how she loved them and would love to hug them.  So many of the mothers have called us to express their grief and the grief of their children.  They also informed us of how much their children loved 'Miss. Danielle.'
Danielle was in Girl Scouts for 6 years. She worked very hard on her badges and did many good deeds associated with scouting. The girls worked hard and also played hard. We had a very special troop - I was limited to a certain number, but I could never turn anyone away, so we always had a large troop 'the more the merrier.' Ryan and Daren were so cute when Danielle and I started scouting ~ Ry was 3 and Dar was 2 - they used to say the Brownie Promise along with the girls.  Many of the Mothers volunteered their time to make the troop as successful as it was.  Many of the scouts that were in the troop have signed Danielle's web page.
Danielle talked about this event that took place at the end of the summer for weeks ~ we, my Mom and I attended ~ Danielle would not have it any other way.  She was so proud of the girls and their costumes.  I'm so glad I went!
The memorial was set-up in Danielle's memory to send the girls to camp that could not afford to go. Lunch and snack arrangements were also established so that no young girl would be without a lunch.
